Wheatley Wood
Situated in a residential area, the site is a wonderful piece of countryside in an otherwise urban setting. It comprises a number of linked meadows separated by well established hedgerows. Although it is surrounded by a railway line, houses and busy roads, the land provides a peaceful and attractive area for people to visit. Trees are all deciduous and include oak, ash, hornbeam, willow and a variety of shrubs such as hawthron. Rochford District Council gave the land to the Woodland Trust in December 1995.
