Green Castle Woods
Rising from the western bank of Afon Tywi to a high point of about 250 feet, outstanding views over the surrounding countryside can be seen. Two ancient woodlands occupy about one third of the site. The remaining area includes flower rich meadows and wet pasture with alder and willow lined streams. The name Green Castle (Castell Moel) comes from the ruined 15th century mansion which can be seen overlooking the river Tywi. In the mature woodlands, bluebells, wood sorrel and wild garlic can be seen.
